Part III: Personal Mission Statement and Reflection

Original Mission Statement:

To infuse passion and drive into those I’m surrounded by, to be creative, pioneering, and innovative, to be honest and uphold the highest integrity, to work hard and stick faithfully to commitments, to enjoy life, and to, “Go forth and set the world on fire.”

When writing my original statement, I consulted with Tom Ferlic. He gave me such great insight into life and FLP that I left feeling more uplifted than ever. This conversation also took place right around the time of Dr. Dornsife’s talk about passions. We had an incredible conversation about our passions and he inspired me to stick with it, yet broaden my perspectives and take in everything the world is offering me. Looking back on the mission statement that I wrote that night, I wouldn’t want to change a thing. I feel that I have upheld every aspect of it in my college life so far and I still value very dearly everything it touches on. I truly believe that if I let this mission statement be the driving force behind all that I do at Creighton and in life, I will be the best version of myself.

If I had to change anything, I would add this quote about always following your passions: “Fall in love, stay in love, and it will decide everything.”
